From 4-8pm, for a $3 suggested donation, ages 3 and under free, you can have great family fun.

The Garfield Park Conservatory hosts an extra special Halloween evening, by showcasing live nocturnal animals in the Conservatory living collection.  Night dwelling animals, such as a fruit bat, owls, spiders, snakes, and a wolf, will visit the Conservatory on this special Halloween night. Come learn about these creatures special night-time tricks, and get a treat for your efforts! Music, activities, trick or treat stations, a candy candlelight trail, and more are all part of this special evening. Halloween get-ups are encouraged- be sure to join us for a backyard costume parade at 7:30.  A backyard campfire, candle lit lanterns, along with an almost full moon, will light the backyard procession way.

Live animal stations will be stationed both inside and outside the conservatory, and include:

  • Owls
  • A Wolf
  • Fruit Bats
  • A Fennec Fox
  • Spiders and Giant Millipedes
  • Snakes and Reptiles
  • An Armadillo
  • A Chinchilla
  • A Tenrec Hedgehog
  • A Civet
  • Kinkajou

Activity Stations include 

  • Monster Moss Bracelets
  • Grow-In-the-Dark Necklaces
  • Wormy Apple Snack-tivity  Station
  • A Candy-light trail, for traditional trick or treating

Monster Music, Boo Grass, and Positive Wrap will be available at our music tent:

  • 4 pm to 6 pm – Interactive Halloween Tunes with Sandy Lucas
  • 6 pm to 7 pm – Boo Grass Music provided by 3rd Sunday String Band
  • 7 pm to 7:30 pm – Positive children rap concert performed by 6 year old rapper Had
