NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade is March 16 starting at 11am to 5pm and has more than 150,000 participants (plus 2 millions watchers) and is the oldest and largest parade in the Western Hemisphere. Everyone in the parade is on foot–no floats, no motorized vehicles, no balloons.

If you walk to lift a few beers, there are bars in the 20s along 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Plus, St Patrick’s Cathedral at 50th street (on Fifth Ave).

The parade starts at Fifth at 44th Street and 79 th Street and extends for 1.5 miles down 5th Avenue.  It takes 5 hours to complete the route.
