Do Something Good For Your Neighbor Day is May 16, 2024. Here are some things you can do:

  1. Take their garbage to curb on garbage day – or take their garbage to the dump (if a reasonable amt)
  2. Offer to weed a flower bed for 30 minutes
  3. When running errands, ask if there’s anything they need.
  4. Invite them over for coffee or beverages
  5. If they garden, ask if they would like a part of one of your plants.
  6. Offer to watch neighbor’s children or pets
  7. Get groceries for elderly neighbor.
  8. Take baked goods over to a neighbor
  9. Walk your neighbor’s dog (if they are friendly and save place to walk)
  10. Take their mail in when they are vacation
  11. Provide them with a list of all the service folks that you have found helpful (electricians, plumbers, car repair, etc)
  12. Share your best recipes with your neighbor
  13. Offer to pick up sticks (if there are any) or trash in their yard
  14. Spring cleaning- offer to take  their stuff along with yours to a charity (Goodwill, Salvation, etc)
  15. Create an alarm system -ie, push car alarm if in distress for 3-5 minutes to alert neighbors you need help.
  16. Offer some suggestions for take out and get them something.
  17. Listen- maybe they just need someone to talk to and listen to them.
