Wilkeson Pointe is now open but not the restaurant Perro and Ponti and overall looks pretty good. Nice building, four real bathrooms and most of the original landscaping has been retained near the water. Needs some signage indicating restrooms but inside so doesn’t ruin outside design.
There is one area that is a questionable area and that is outside the building where the tables are there is a large sand area with no apparent usage and no obvious place where a band could set up for music (hence probably why Dead Alliance concert moved to Terminal B). Plus sand is just going to make a mess.
There is a cement area adjacent but it is small and there is a round plant area that would restrict viewing. Plus telephone poles type structures that we expect that are for design that don’t deliver. This is the largest landscaping area and it really doesn’t deliver either functionally or aesthetically. What is nice tho is from the dining area you have a view of the water. Our suggestion unless we missed its intention, is to replace the sand with something else. And, of course, plants need watering with this hot weather (one evergreen is dead already). And, have the concerts in the large grassy area heading towards Fuhrmann. There are also two volleyball net areas.
The other main issue is parking- there is a new entrance but only 16 parking places beyond the street. Would have been good if they have put a row of parking perpendicular to the street-Fuhrmann.
Word on the street is that restaurant isn’t open now because of hold up on liquor license–one would think the state would expedite it…..
So, overall nice with exception of parking and sand area.
