Trump’s invasion of Venezuela represents an uncertain future in a country in turmoil and thinking that oil companies will invest billions of dollars over the next decade is unrealistic. Especially, since Trump wants to “run the country indefinitely” and control the profits in an offshore account.

Blowing up “drug” boats fooled no one- we all knew it was about the OIL.

And, then there was the cost to capture President Maduro. 150 Aircraft including F-35’s, FA18’s, F22s , B-1 Bombers, E-2 hawkeyes and drones. Delta Force, CIA, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. Plus USS Iwo Jima naval vessel. What do you think that cost?

Now here comes the best part- Today- December 9th– Trump is meeting with oil executives- six days after the attack. They will be thrilled- Trump wants to control the profits in an offshore account that he gets to determine where the profits go “indefinitely “(probably to him but supposedly to the American and Venezuelan people).  The cost to get the oil is tens to hundreds of billions of dollars plus years to a decade to implement.

Here is what the oil execs said-Exxon- Darren Woods- “we have had our assets seized their twice and today Venezuela is univestable …” and overall understably oil execs are not committed. Trump then says our government with make it safe–except that he will be out of office as years if not decades plus billions of dollars would be required to secure the oil. Net- we spent millions capturing Maduro with no plan afterwards. But, Trump just focuses on how wonderful the capture was. Great- more money down the drain.

And, do you think China- who has invested over $100 billion since 2000 in loans and direct investments of $2.1billion since 2016 is just going to sit by and do nothing. And Russia via Roseneft Loans has provided around $6.5 billion between 2014 and 2017 to Venezuela’s state oil company in exchange of oil prepayments. Do you think they are going to let the US dominate the oil. And, while they are all fighting over the oil, what about the Venezuelan people?

Here comes the best party- while Trump “runs the country”, takes the profits, he has floated that taxpayers pay for oil drilling and development. Great…

The only good news is that the Senate voted to advance a resolution that would limit future strikes on Venezuela. And, if the US lifts the current export blockade, Venezuela can produce about one million barrels a day.

And, let’s not forget, we the taxpayers now have to pay to prosecute Maduro. Do we think he is a despicable person- yes.

And, then Trump wants Cuba, Greenland, Columbia, Iran. Meanwhile, it is a diversion to affordability which is part of his plan. Distraction. However, we pay the bills and they are not going down.
