Hello–what happened to Trump’s buddies and those intimidated who were supposed to privately fund it? A Vegas contributor withdrew $50 billion because of that bond market.
As for security, please- it if 10 levels below- a bomb that takes out first five levels- basically buried. And the new ballroom has a zillion windows not to menetion energy cvosts with 40 foot ceilings- yeah, that is secure.
US Commission on Fine Arts approved the ballroom plan- of course, packed with Trump’s allies. And, in true Trump form, construction is proceeding despite the National Trust lawsuit which is still pending.

As you will recall, the East Wing was torn down and a new 90,000 Square foot ballroom was to be built with private funding of $400million.
The demolition and construction began before full approvals were finalized. In December, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit established by Congress to help safeguard historic properties, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration. There is a lawsuit from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to stop construction. The group said the project moved forward without legally required reviews or congressional approval.
Meanwhile, Trump has said “there is not practical or reasonable way to go back-it’s too late”. Yeah, you torn down the East Wing. He also detailed a list of materials that he said have already been purchased or are poised for acquisition, writing: “All of the Structural Steel, Windows, Doors, A.C./Heating Equipment, Marble, Stone, Precast Concrete, Bulletproof Windows and Glass, Anti-Drone Roofing, and much more.”
So, now the question is the lawsuit, and will the contributors make up the $50 million missing plus their contribution. Surprise, not the GOP Congress wants the public to fund it. Contributors- https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c891yxgj44ko
