Congressman Nick Langworthy- Eroding Our Democracy- this is a survey and email we just received from Nick Langworthy.

Our position is as follows:

No we do NOT believe students who support “terrorist” groups should be deported. In the late 60’s we protested Vietnam….hence, would we be terrorists? Support is also a vague term. Putting a sign up is NOT the same as trying to bomb something. This is probably the most frightening email we have gotten from him. FREEDOM of speech. Just one more step toward dictatorship. Langworthy is continuing to be totally out of touch with history. In this case, he is saying that anyone protesting actions relative to Palestine -Israeli war is a terrorist but only if you support Israel and ignoring even Jewish Voice for Peace standing in solidarity with Palestine.

Meanwhile, where were they when the Proud Boys and others stormed the Capitol? Instigated by a candidate for president who couldn’t accept that he lost the popular vote a second time- 65, 844, 954 vs. 62,979, 879 to Clinton  (only won because of electoral college) in 2016 and in 2020- Biden won 81,283,098 vs. Trump 74,222, 958.

This is Congressman Nick Langworthy’s Email

This week, I introduced the Veto Your Visas Act, which would revoke the student visas of those involved in support of any Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), including Hamas.

Specifically, this bill would require institutions of higher education to immediately report to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) if they become aware that a student on an Exchange Visitor or Academic Student nonimmigrant visa has participated in or endorsed activities in support of a foreign terrorist organization. It would also direct the Secretary of State to revoke the visa of a student if they have supported a FTO. Upon visa revocation, the Secretary of Homeland Security would be required to begin removal proceedings against the student.

It is a privilege to come to the United States to learn at our institutions, and the scourge of anti-Semitic protests across our college campuses have put the safety of Jewish students at risk. Students like Mahmoud Khalil, a Syrian national who has openly supported Hamas’ brutal murder of innocent Israeli civilians, has no place in our country.

Currently, the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and State Department are investigating Khalil as a possible national security threat for his actions. The case of Mahmoud Kahlil underscores how important it is to protect America’s right to deport anyone who supports terrorism.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU…
Do you believe a student in the U.S. on a visa should be deported if they support a Foreign Terrorist Organization?

Yes

No
