Elon Musk’s Armored Tesla – Useless and Ugly so Sell to US Government- Space X- Gets More Funding Too while meanwhile proposing cuts to Medicaid.

In 2025, there were 79.4 Million people getting Medicaid of which 36 million were CHILDREN, 27 Million adults of which 7 million are over 65 and 10 million with disabilities. There are 65 million people getting Medicare. 25% of Medicare payments were made in last year of life- better end of life management should be explored as as preventive care, drug pricing.

While Elon Musk and Trump are firing people right and left, Elon is raking it in. February 12 he got $40 million in funding for Space X and over the last 10 years has been awarded at least $18 Billion in federal contracts. Now as of February 15, the State Department says it is abandoning plans of purchasing the $400 Million worth of Tesla’s “armored” vehicles. BUT wait, that is because it got visibility—we shall see if it is snuck in later in the year or next year. Source- NPR

And on February 13- Trump is set to purchase $400 million worth of armored Teslas. You might have seen them around-SO UGLY so nobody would buy them except our government….maybe we should feed our poor first. And, get this–as of later in the day on Feb 13 -the State Dept revised its wording from Armored Tesla to Armored Electric Vehicles (of course, only Tesla makes them). Really???

And, the Tesla Armored cybertruck is bulletproof from a 9mm handgun round but has failed bulletproof tests using larger guns. And, bulletproof only if the bullets hit the doors. Theoretically, these would replace Humvees, G-Wagons and Defenders. And, here is the best part- they are electric—like there is a charging station in the middle of the desert or jungle. Oh, and it can go 325 miles before  requiring a charge. There would be no way to practically recharge them in the field except to bring along large generators. So you have an even larger logistics problem because now you have to bring more equipment, even more fuel (charging isn’t lossless), and have more equipment to maintain.

And  you wonder where some of Tesla’s money comes from– 43% of Tesla’s Net income came from selling energy credits- $10.7 billion.

As for cost cutting, reducing fraud and efficiency—who wouldn’t view that favorably? But, programs should be phased out…we have bullies on the Republican side and Democrats that don’t do cost cutting and efficiency enhancements on the other. Isn’t there a middle sane ground? There is now $489 million worth of USAID food rotting because of the Trump’s/Musk’s actions.

Hopefully, some saner heads will kill off this Tesla $400 million fiasco.
