Love Your Park- Volunteers Needed to Spruce Up Our Parks- May 6, 2023- Pick a Park and Help Out. All are on May 6th. Knox Farm, Woodlawn Beach, Niagara Falls, Joseph Davis, Wilson-Tuscarora, Fort Niagara
Knox Farm State Park -437 Buffalo Road-from 9am to Noon. Register at the parking lot. Tree planting, mulching, trail maintenance, invasive weeding, tree branch cleanup. Bring work globes, extra rakes, shovels and lopers are appreciated if you have them. Mark your name on your tools.
Woodlawn Beach State Park -3580 Lakeshore Road, Hamburg -from 10am to 1pm. Meet at the main parking lot. 3580 Lakeshore Road, Blasdell/Hamburg. Equipment provided. Weather dependent. Please bring garage bags and pick sticks are provided. Gloves encouraged. Call 716-549-1050 to register. Led by NY State Parks. (This park is affected by seiches so it needs a lot of help).
Niagara Falls State Park-from 10am to 2pm. Meet at parking lot #3. Pick up litter, removing weeds from flower beds, assist with painting Cave of the Winds decking.
Joseph Davis Park – 4143 Lower River Road, Youngstown- from 9am to Noon. Meet at parking lot. Disc golf course work, trimming and cleaning up. Bring gloves, any garden hand tools.
Wilson- Tuscarora State Park– from 10am to 12:30pm. Parking in main parking lot. Meet at the community room near the restrooms. Beach clean-up.
Fort Niagara State Park -from 1pm to 3pm. Meet at Fort Niagara Nature Center–when entering main parking lot, it is to the left. Building blue bird houses, cleaning gardens, trail marking. Comfy shoes and dress for weather, gloves good idea.
