Cave of the Winds is now open daily from 9am to 6:15pm and 8:15pm on Saturdays. Admission is $21 for adults, $17 for kids 6-12 and free for kids 5. And, Monday-Friday- parking is FREE if you are 62+ (show driver’s license- upside down on scanner) , otherwise it is $10.
Terrapin Point is a great play to view the falls.
Also, then walk to the left of the arch near the water and you can go out past the Horseshoe Falls, and then the Three Sisters are open. Once you walk out on the Three Sisters, go across the street and there is a new trail through the woods that leads back to Lot #2.
You can also use your parking ticket and go down to the Observatory walkway (open this year) near the Rainbow bridge- Lot #1.
The name “Cave of the Winds” is a bit deceiving. In the 1800’s there was a rock overhang –or a cave like structure– that allowed people to stand under the Falls. The Cave collapsed in the early 1900’s but the name stuck.
