As we have learned as a former member of several mushroom clubs–1. Never Eat them without an expert confirming what you have- ie don’t rely on a book. 2. Never eat them raw (these are not like store bought mushrooms). 3. It is great fun- so explore RAMA- Rochester Area Mycological Assoc.–they do several hikes at Letchworth. 4. There is a facebook mushroom group in Buffalo – but we have not explored that yet.

Make sure if you bring a teen that they are mature- there is no kidding around with eating these–you can die or get deathly ill plus diarrhea and vomiting.
