The Peace Garden Trail covers over 600 miles including the USA and Canada and blooms May-October. The Peace Gardens have been established along the historic route where events of the War of 1812 determined the future of the US, Canada and many First Nations and Native Americans.
The War of 1812 was a war between the US and Great Britain from 1812 to 1814. Causes of the war include trade tensions, impressments, British support for Indian raids and US Territory expansion. The war led to the independence of the US and Canada. Much of the war was concentrated in NY state along the southern shoes of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River.
