FREE-Vision and Verse at Burchfield Penny Art Center- Letita James, Aitina Faqreed- Cooke and Michael Constantine– February 11, 2026 at 5pm celebrating Black History Month through art, poetry, music and food. FREE but register.

This special evening will feature New York State Attorney General Letitia James as a guest speaker, followed by an immersive poetry experience led by Buffalo Poet Laureate Aitina Fareed-Cooke. In a unique, participatory performance, Fareed-Cooke will invite audience members to help create an original poem honoring Black history, culture, and vision. As the poem unfolds, artist Michael Constantine will simultaneously create a live painting inspired by the verses, bringing words and visuals together in real time.
