Where Did Trump’s Shakedown and Extortion Money from Universities Go? You know, the money he extorted from universities in order for them to continue to get federal grants.
The $50 million from Brown University will be paid as grants over 10 years to Rhode Island workforce development organizations…supposedly to help fund trade schools.
The $200 million from Columbia is going to the US Treasury to be paid over three years.
Trump froze $175 million of the University of Pennsylvania- because they allowed a transgender woman to compete in women’s sports. Note less than .002% of transgender people are in US college athletic programs and there are only five transgender girls competing on girls teams in school sports grades K through 12. The attention this has gotten vs. all the other facing the US…pathetic. Penn folded and eliminated this one person from their athletic program. Trump released the frozen funds–of course he graduated from Penn’s Wharton School and donated over a million dollars to Penn over the years.
Meanwhile, Harvard is in litigation as Trump has frozen $2.6 Billion in research grants. On September 3, 2025- a Federal judge ruled that the Trump Administration violated the constitution finding that the administration’s freeze orders were retaliation for protected speech. She also found that the government failed to comply with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which requires agencies to give notice, investigation, and an opportunity to respond before terminating federal financial assistance over civil rights violations.Burroughs also ruled that the freeze orders were “arbitrary and capricious” under the Administrative Procedure Act, stating that federal agencies had gathered virtually no evidence about antisemitism at Harvard prior to issuing them.

Northwestern- Trump froze $790 Million
Duke- Trump froze $108 Million
Princenton- Trump frozen $210 millionin federal reserach grants. And an additional $4 million specifically targeted at Princeton’s climate change research.
So, the shakedown of universities continue after the shakedown of the legal firms that are now required to provide free services to fight all the lawsuits again his administration. Now Trump is using the National Guard to target “blue” cities on the baseless claim against crime.
