Boney James Concert at Buffalo State– Concert So-So, Music Good at April 6, 2023 concert at Rockwell Hall. He is a great saxophonist and the music itself was great. However, as a concert, the performance reflected his lack of interaction with his band (with a terrific drummer, but all talented) –he focused only on himself –though he did give two of them a solo. Success breeds arrogance.The lighting, the distance from other band members….so buy the CD, forgo the concert….while Brian Culbertson who we saw a few weeks ago was incredible- great chemistry with band and between band members…go to that concert AND buy the CD.
