Eligible fields of study: Must be enrolled in a high-demand career path, including:

  • Nursing and allied health fields
  • Engineering and technology / computer science
  • Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
  • Advanced manufacturing and mechatronics
  • Green and renewable energy
  • Teaching pathways (e.g., childhood/adolescence education)
How to Apply

  • File Financial Aid: Complete the FAFSA and the NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application (and the NYS Dream Act if applicable).

  • Apply through SUNY or CUNY: Visit the official SUNY Reconnect or HESC News Releases portals to pick a participating community college and submit your application for the Spring 2027 term starting in January
