See map of area being discussed. The government goal is, of course, to creat buildings to create more tax revenue..in part.

This provides our viewpoint which focuses on two areas- Canalside and Times Beach.

Canalside

Canalside had amazing concerts for years attracting people of all ages as well as families- making the waterfront vibrant. Now, dead as a doornail- as exhibited by the lack of attendance at the recent 250 anniversary event at Naval Park. See photos of concerts. Some at the end said there were some disturbances- like Darien Lake or any concert doesn’t. The city owns it and just can’t wait to put buildings there and ruin the waterfront. See recent photo of the UGLY construction next to Explore and More. And, as for Terminal B- what a architectural disaster that is- no view of waterfront, two sides to stage that do NOTHING, horrible seating (say vs. Artpark). Canalside (other than River Fest- which will now be affected by the proposed Seneca One Stop with 25 fuel pumps and 3400 sq ft convenience store and 2500 sq ft cannabis shop so that area will be ruined) was the only place to be in the heart of  the city to enjoy events.

Without events, the waterfront area will be dead- check out Southern Tier Brewing- last year there were 8 people at the bar watching the Bills game. Events create traffic and vibrancy. Canalside should have concerts, family events, car show, boat shows, food events, etc. etc.

Times Beach

Times Beach- should be cleaned out of some of flattened trees and kept as a nature area- where monarch butterflies migrate thru and shore birds. Times Beach- beautiful nature area- and seiche makes it a terrible place to build. Developers just can’t wait to have our entire shore line filled with buildings.

As for architecture. check out the photo of the new buildings going next Explore and More. The styles don’t blend and it is just UGLY.
