Symptoms of the illness in birds, which include crusty or swollen eyes, seizures, and a lack of coordination.Bird species that have been affected by the illness have included juvenile or fledgling blue jays, common grackles, European starlings, and American robins.
Affected states are being asked to take precautions to stop the disease from spreading, including cleaning feeders and bird baths with a 10 percent bleach solution weekly.
You should also should refrain from feeding or handling birds, and were urged to keep pets, including pet birds, from the affected animals.
