  4. Living History – Juneteenth – June 17, 2018– 11am to 4pm. at NY Historical Society Museum. FREE.  On June 19, 1865, military orders to free enslaved people were finally, officially enforced in Texas—two months after the end of the American Civil War and two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.Discover this new emancipation day by meeting Living Historians from the 6th United States Colored Troops, a Civil War reenacting troop. Check out their 19th-century uniforms, investigate a soldier’s tools and equipment, and learn a military drill!
  5. Juneteenth – June 16 from 7-10pm at Hancock Community Backyard Garden Park, 324 Hancock Street, Brooklyn.  FREE but register. Cinema Garden Party – I Am Not Your Negro, a documentary by Raoul Peck. James Baldwin’s radical journey into black history & race in modern in America.
  6. June 16, 2018- Modern Day Juneteenth Jubilee at St. Matthews A.M.E Church, 1788 Sedgwick Avenue, Bronx. Tickets are $20 or $25 at the door.Take part in this birthing moment of RUN Movement. We are having this great event hosting singers, rappers, dancers, poets, worshippers and artists of the like to come and share their talents for an excellent cause.Be a part of our process by coming out Saturday June 16th early starting at 12:00PM to support local independent designers, and entrepreneurs at our bazaar and purchase a ticket to our concert where dinner will be served
